Black History Month
World Black History connects the African Diaspora while celebrating Global African achievements. World Black History On Periscope made its social media debut by celebrating Black History Month on Livestream. Viewers contributed by broadcasting on the app from the United States, Canada, Caribbean, Africa, and Europe. The World Black History On Periscope scopers trended on Twitter with 176,000 tweets with hashtag #blackhistorymonth on February 1, 2016. Periscope and Twitter are the first social media platforms to recognize Africans and its Diaspora with fist emojis by using hashtags: #bhm #blackhistory #blackhistorymonth. With your help, they can surpass those numbers beginning February 1, 2017.
World Black History On Periscope has Meetups group for anyone interested in Black History, African History, African American History or American History through the lens of Black people. As an inclusive group, all are welcome to join and learn. They visit museums, monuments, national parks, tours, and travels. This group is for Moms, Dads, Grandparents, Teachers, and Friends. They share their Black History knowledge as learned, to others via social media live streams. The aim is to share Black History with love and understanding toward healing American History.
